forest management. There are 10 Principles and 57 Criteria that
address legal issues, indigenous rights, labor rights, multiple

management. They certify wood harvested from well-managed
forests and wood products made from FSC certified wood.

Green Seal is an independent certifier. Hundreds of products and
services from major companies have been certified to meet Green
Seal standards, and the number of major product categories
covered by standards has increased to more than 40.

Greenguard Environmental Institute (GEI) is an
industry-independent, non-profit organization that oversees the
Greengaurd Certification Program.  As an ANSI Authorized
Standards Developer, GEI establishes acceptable indoor air
standards for indoor products, environments, and buildings. The
Greenguard Certification Program is an industry-independent,
third-party testing program for low-emitting products and
materials.

screened each ingredient for potential human health and
environmental effects and that—based on currently available
information and EPA predictive models—the product contains
only those ingredients that pose the least concern among
chemicals in their class.
